The Real Africa
South Luangwa National Park
Famous for its high concentration of leopards, the South Luangwa National Park is considered by many experienced travelers to be one of the most important wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The animal population along the Luangwa River is incredibly diverse with almost 60 species of mammals and more than 400 species of birds. This park is ideal for walking safaris.
Lower Zambezi National Park
Situated in the heart of the park, the great Zambezi River is without a doubt the highlight. Travel along the river by boat and see elephants, buffaloes and waterbuck in and around the water. While the lower Zambezi cannot compete with the animal density of the South Luangwa National Park, the animal populations are decent and the diverse safari activities make a stay exciting and varied.
Kafue
Largely untouched by mass tourism, the Kafue National Park is home to herds of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and numerous big cats, among others. Game drives offer the rare opportunity of enjoying this animal kingdom almost entirely on your own. The lush grasslands of the Busanga Plains are only accessible from June to October.
