Scenic Namibia

A country of epic landscapes, Namibia is home to the endless sand dunes of the Namib and Kalahari deserts, and breathtaking wildlife. With only a few cities, most of the country consists of beautiful, untouched landscapes of immense beauty and wonder waiting to be explored.

Sossusvlei Dunes


The approximately 300 kilometers long salt-clay pan ("vlei" = pan) is surrounded by huge sand dunes that reach heights of over 300 meters. The largest of these, appropriately named Big Daddy, is around 325 meters high, while the nearby Big Mama is only a few meters shorter. The heat in this region reaches extreme temperatures of around 50°C in the midsummer months of December and January.

Etosha National Park


Etosha is Namibia's first and finest safari destination. The park, a quarter of which is made up of huge salt pans, has a high concentration of animals including the big five and the rare black rhino, and offers fantastic game drives with breathtaking scenery. A trip to one of the few watering holes in the park is sure offer a glimpse of some of these incredible animals.

Fish River Canyon


An immense natural wonder, the Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world and offers unforgettable landscapes and breathtaking views. Many gorgeous viewpoints can be accessed from an easy-to-follow 25km long gravel road. With the permission of the nature conservation authority in Windhoek, guided hikes through the canyon can be arranged in the winter months. Many of these trails are very challenging, with some requiring medical certificates confirming good health before booking.
