For luxury lodges and peak-season safaris (June–October), we recommend 6–12 months in advance. Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, and gorilla permits often fill up a year ahead.
International flights are not included, but we can advise the best routes and timing.
Currently, African Safari Dream focuses on tailor-made and private travel. Small-group departures may be introduced in future.
We partner with luxury and ultra-luxury safari lodges, tented camps, boutique hotels, and exclusive-use villas that meet strict standards of service, safety, and sustainability.
This depends on the region and season, but iconic sightings include:
Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino)
Great Migration (seasonal in Kenya/Tanzania)
Desert-adapted wildlife in Namibia
Marine wildlife along South Africa’s coasts
Gorilla trekking in Rwanda/Uganda
Your proposal will highlight what to expect for your chosen destination.
Yes when guided by professionals. We only work with accredited lodges and suppliers that follow strict safety protocols. Your guides will brief you before each activity.
Many luxury lodges welcome families, but child age policies vary. Some offer private vehicles, junior ranger activities, or family suites. We’ll match lodges to your family’s needs.
Vaccination requirements vary by destination and your home country.
Common recommendations include:
Yellow Fever (for some East African countries)
Routine vaccinations
Malaria prophylaxis in certain regions
Your travel advisor will guide you, and you should consult your doctor before travel.
We provide guidance based on nationality, but visa applications are handled by the traveller. Many African countries offer e-visa systems.
For fly-in safaris, soft bags are required and weight limits range from 15–20 kg depending on aircraft size. We will specify exact rules for your route.
English is widely spoken across Southern and East Africa, especially in hospitality and tourism.
Payments are made via bank transfer to our official South African business account. You will receive a formal invoice and booking confirmation for each payment.
Deposits are non-refundable due to the strict policies of lodges and permit authorities. These policies ensure your booking is secured, but unfortunately, they do not allow for refunds. Leave everything else out.
Luxury lodges and remote safari camps operate on limited inventory. Once a booking is confirmed, they charge penalties for changes or cancellations. We disclose all terms upfront, exactly as provided by each supplier.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering:
Medical care
Cancellation
Emergency evacuation
Some lodges require proof of medical evacuation insurance.
